Add a Microsoft 365 Shared Mailbox to Apple Mail app

If you’re a member of a Microsoft 365 shared mailbox it handily shows up automatically in the Outlook app, but what if you’re on macOS and using the Apple Mail app?

  1. Click “Apple Icon” in the top left of the screen.
  2. Click “System Preferences”

  3. Click “Internet accounts”

  4. Click “Add Other Account”

  5. Click “Mail Account”

  6. Enter as belowName: Microsoft 365 Shared Mailbox Name

    Email Address: microsoft365sharedmailbox@yourdomain.co.uk

    Password: <microsoft365haredmailboxpassword>

  7. Click “Sign in”
  8. You will receive an error, set the server details as below.Account type: POPServer address incoming: outlook.office365.com

    Server address outgoing: outlook.office365.com

    Name: Microsoft 365 Shared Mailbox Name

    Email Address: microsoft365sharedmailbox@yourdomain.co.uk

    Password: <microsoft365haredmailboxpassword>

  9. Click “Log in”
